Pride Season is about many things — including letting your colours fly.

To mark the season, campus community gathered on Tuesday, July 9 to raise the Progress Pride flag on the Studley Quad in Halifax. While Pride celebrations are spread throughout the summer months in cities and communities around the world, in Halifax it's July that people typically gather to celebrate 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and communities as a recognition of the first Halifax Pride march in July 1988.

The event featured speaking remarks from representatives of DalOut, the Queer Faculty & Staff caucus and was followed by a community BBQ on the Killam Podium.

This month Dal is hoting its second annual Big Gay Film Fest on Wednesday nights (screenings on the 17th and 24th) and take part in the Halifax Pride Parade on July 20
