Lucy Glen-Carter, Volleyball
Fourth-year outside hitter Lucy Glen-Carter is this week’s female PepsiCo Athlete of the Week.
Lucy led the Tigers to two wins last week to close out the regular season with a first-place finish.
She was the named the Subway Player of the Game in the Tigers 3-2 defeat of the Acadia Axewomen last Wednesday, earning a match-high 24 kills along with 19 digs and two aces.
Lucy was hot again in the Tigers 3-1 victory over the Sain Mary’s Huskies, again earning Subway Player of the Game honours with 18 kills, nine digs, two blocks and an ace.
In Wednesday night’s match, she reached and surpassed a milestone 1000 career kills and broke the AUS record for kills in a single season.
A Master of Physiotherapy student, Lucy is from Toronto, Ont.
Shamar Burrows, Basketball
Fifth-year guard Shamar Burrows is this week’s male PepsiCo Athlete of the Week.
Shamar led the Tigers to a 74-69 win over the Cape Breton Capers Saturday night.
He scored 17 points in the win and added five rebounds, three assists and two steals to be the named the Subway Player of the Game in his final regular season game with the Tigers.
A native of Nassau, Bahamas, Shamar is Master of Public Administration student.
