Culture, colour and community on display at campus Mawio'mi

- October 7, 2022

The familiar sounds of Dal's annual Mawio'mi rang out across Studley Campus Wednesday, with pounding drums beckoning community members to come take part in what is the largest Indigenous event on campus each year.

As in past years, there was a lot to see and do. This year's Mawio'mi, the 12th annual, was a feast for the senses, with food, music, dancing, and vendors offering unique artistic creations for sale.

First held in 2009, Dal's yearly Mawio'mi has become a signature event in the university's Mi'kmaq History Month celebrations each October.

Dalhousie photographer Danny Abriel was on hand to capture some of the sights at this year's celebration.
