Mieke DuMont, Volleyball
Fifth-year outside hitter Mieke DuMont is this week’s MUSCLE MLK Female Athlete of the Week.
Mieke led the Tigers to two regular season wins this past week.
She had earned a total of 14.0 points with 13 kills, 10 digs and an ace in the Tigers 3-0 win over the Acadia Axewomen Thursday night in Wolfville.
She was hot again Saturday night, earning 12.5 points with 10 kills in 10 attacks, plus 15 digs, 1.5 blocks and an ace to lead the Tigers to a 3-0 win over the visiting UNB Reds.
A kinesiology student, Mieke is from Kamloops, B.C.

Mike Shoveller, Basketball
Fifth-year post Mike Shoveller is this week’s MUSCLE MLK Male Athlete of the Week.
Mike averaged 14 points last week, leading the Tigers to back-to-back victories.
He scored 13 points and added two blocks and a rebound in the Tigers 69-66 win over the StFX X-Men Wednesday night in Antigonish.
Mike was solid again Friday night on home court, scoring 15 points and adding six rebounds and a block in the Tigers 78-72 win over the visiting StFX X-Men.
A native of Arnprior, Ont., Mike is a Master of Public Administration student.
