Fabiana Petricca, Hockey
Third-year goaltender Fabiana Petricca is this week’s MUSCLE MLK Female Athlete of the Week.
Fabiana faced 111 shots in two games to lead the Tigers to a win and a loss last week.
She turned away 47 shots in the Tigers 3-2 OT loss to the Saint Mary’s Huskies Wednesday night.
On Friday, she turned away another 58 shots and stonewalled the X-Women’s three shooters in the shootout to beat StFX 4-3 in Antigonish. She earned Subway Player of the Game honours for her outstanding effort.
A kinesiology student, Fabiana is from Woodbridge, O.N.

Alex Carson, Basketball
Third-year guard Alex Carson is this week’s MUSCLE MLK Male Athlete of the Week.
Alex earned tournament MVP honours at Waterloo’s 50th annual Naismith Classic over the weekend.
He scored eight points and had four rebounds in the Tigers 70-60 win over the host Waterloo Warriors Thursday night.
The next day, he netted a game-high 23 points and added four rebounds to lead the Tigers to a 79-77 win over the Laurier Golden Hawks.
He was hot again on Saturday, scoring a team-high 15 points with another four rebounds to secure a 66-65 victory over the Ottawa GeeGees to win the tournament.
A native of Lower Sackville, N.S., Alex is a recreation management student.
