Savanna Jordan, Cross Country
First-year cross country runner Savanna Jordan is this week’s MUSCLE MLK Female Athlete of the Week.
Savanna led the Tigers to their fifth-consecutive AUS championship title in Wolfville over the weekend.
In just her first season with the Tigers, Savanna raced to a first-place finish in the women’s 8km race of the 2017 AUS Subway Cross Country Championship.
She finished with a time of 30:05, nearly a minute ahead of teammate Michelle Reddy to win the race and earn both AUS MVP and rookie of the year honours.
A kinesiology student, Savanna is from Calgary, Alta.

Gavin Dyke, Swimming
Fifth-year swimmer Gavin Dyke is this week’s MUSCLE MLK Male Athlete of the Week.
Gavin won all six of his events at the Jack Scholz Invitational swim meet at Acadia over the weekend.
He was the first to the wall in the 100m, 200m, 400m and 1500m freestyle events and led both Tigers relay teams to victory to win the men’s team title.
A native of Mount Pearl, NL., Gavin is an arts student.
