Fourth-year goaltender Jessica Severeyns is this week’s MUSCLE MLK Female Athlete of the Week.
Jessica led the Tigers to a 4-1 victory over the Mount Allison Mounties on Sunday in New Brunswick.
She turned away 24 of the 25 shots she faced, helping the Tigers to a 4-1 victory.
In Saturday’s 5-4 win over the visiting St. Thomas Tommies, she entered the game towards the end of the second period and turned away all nine shots she faced in her 24 minutes played.
A kinesiology student, Jessica is from Hammonds Plains, N.S.

Alex Carson, Basketball
Second-year forward Alex Carson is this week’s MUSCLE MLK Male Athlete of the Week.
Alex led the Tigers to a 2-1 record at the Queen’s Tindall basketball tournament over the weekend, averaging 20 points over the course of the event.
He opened the tournament with eight points, three rebounds and a steal in the Tigers 86-77 loss to the host Queen’s on Friday night. In Saturday’s 80-70 win over the Concordia Stingers, he collected 14 points and three rebounds. On Sunday, he scored a tournament-high 40 points and added three rebounds and assists plus two steals and blocks in the Tigers 109-66 championship final win over the Lethbridge Pronghorns.
A native of Lower Sackville, N.S., Alex is a recreation management student.
