It was a successful weekened for both the men's basketball team and second-year sprinter Mike Van Der Poel, both winning bronze medals at their sports U SPORTS championships.
The Tigers men's basketball team captured the programs first ever U SPORTS medal, defeating McGill University 69-63 in the bronze medal game. Van Der Poel won a bronze medal in the 300m race at the U SPORTS track and field championships at the University of Alberta Friday night.
