(Halifax, NS) Dalhousie University presents our G2 Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, November 9, 2014.
Ainsley MacIntyre, Basketball
Third-year forward Ainsley MacIntyre is this week’s G2 Female Athlete of the Week.
MacIntyre led the Tigers in a two-game sweep of the UPEI Panthers this past weekend. In Friday night’s 54-47 win, she had eight points, six assists and five rebounds. She added another 15 points and eight rebounds in the Tigers 73-63 victory.
Her outstanding intensity and consistent performances at both ends of the court puts the Tigers at 2-0 to start the regular season.
A science student, Ainsley is from Sydney, NS.

Matt McNeil, Cross Country
Fourth-year runner Matt McNeil is this week’s G2 Male Athlete of the Week.
McNeil placed 12th at the 2014 CIS Cross Country Championship this past Saturday, earning him a second team all-Canadian status. He was the first finisher in the AUS, clocking a time of 34:32.3 in the 10km race at Memorial University that featured winds up to 100km/hour.
His best ever run at the national championship, McNeil previously placed 46th (2011), 66th (2012) and 105th (2013)
A native of Saint John, NB, Matt is an engineering student.
