DAL vs. Windsor - Friday, September 27. 8:00 pm
The Tigers opened up their exhibition season with a five set defeat to the Windsor Lancers. The match was exciting and hard-fought with the teams going back and forth but in the end the Lancers came out on top 15-13 in the deciding set. Maggie Li was a force all match recording 15 kills and five and a half blocks. Fifth-year outside hitters Marlee Powers and Raeesa Lalani led the Tigers offense with 19 kills and three stuff blocks and 16 kills and 16 digs respectively. Libero Marisa Mota led the defense with 19 digs and Abby Czenze quarterbacked the offense with 58 assists.
DAL vs. Acadia - Saturday, September 28. 12:30 pm
The Tigers rebounded from Friday’s night’s loss with a strong effort defeating Acadia 3-0. Maggie Li led the Tigers offense recording 13 kills and Marlee Powers added 11 kills. Anna Dunn was solid in her rookie debut posting six kills and 17 digs. Middle blocker Rachel Wright was impressive notching seven kills and three stuff blocks. Abby Czenze handled the setting duties and had 41 assists. First-year Julie Theisen was excellent in her rookie debut, passing outstanding and recording 13 digs. Theisen was named the Russell Investments Player of the Game for her efforts.
DAL vs. SMU - Saturday, September 28. 7:30 pm
The Tigers defeated the SMU Huskies 3-0 in a rematch of the last year’s AUS championship final. The Tigers offense was very balanced with Anna Dunn recording seven kills and Raeesa Lalani adding six. Maggie Li, Jessica Josenhans, Tara Gowan and Desiree Nouwen all added five kills each. Josenhans and Li were a blocking force with Josenhans posting five and a half blocks and Li five. Libero Marisa Mota led the defense posting 14 digs and setter Abby Czenze was namethe Russell Investments Player of the Game posting 34 assists and nine digs.
DAL vs. CBU - Sunday, September 29. 12:00 pm
The Tigers defeated the CBU Capers 3-1 in their final game of the tournament. Raeesa Lalani led the offense with 12 kills. Desiree Nouwen added 10 kills and three aces and was a force all match. Maggie Li added eight kills and two stuff blocks. Brett Hastings and Abby Czenze shared the setting duties. Tara Gowan was a force recording eight kills and was named the Russell Investments Player of the Match.
