With more than half of the women’s basketball team being made up of first and second years, this young Tigers team had to grow up quickly to be ready to compete in the AUS. After a season full of ups and downs Dal is entering the AUS championship as the fourth-place seed with a 10-10 record. The Tigers showed their stripes and proved they were a force to be reckon with, ensuring that every game against them was a challenge this season.

Opening up the AUS championship at UNB, Dalhousie will be taking on fifth-place seed Memorial at 6pm Friday night in the quarter-finals. With a win and a loss against the Sea-Hawks, Dal will have to be on their A-game to move on to the semifinals. Standouts on the court for the Tigers include fourth-year guard Keisha Brown who has racked up 410 points (second in the AUS), co-captain Anna von Maltzahn who leads in the AUS in total rebounds (207), and third-year guard Courtney Thompson who has earned 78 assists (second in the AUS).

While Dalhousie hasn’t earned a title in the last 11 years, this season the black and gold are prepared to be fierce and ready to bring home the AUS banner and earn their place at the CIS championship hosted by the University of Regina March 15-17.
