Athletes of the Week (ending Mar. 3)

Dalhousie University presents our G2 Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, March 3, 2013.

Tara Gowan, Volleyball

Second-year outside hitter Tara Gowan recorded 10 kills and 10 points in the Tigers opening round 3-0 loss to Trinity Western at the CIS championship this past weekend. The Sydney, N.S. native was named player of the match for Dal. She tallied another 10 kills the next day in a 3-1 loss to Laval during the consolation round. Gowan is enrolled in Dalhousie’s Kinesiology program.

Hassan Abdullahi, Basketball

First-year guard Hassan Abdullahi recorded a game-high 20 points in the Tigers 74-70 loss to the StFX X-Men during the first round of the Subway AUS Championship. The Scarborough, O.N. native also pulled down four rebounds to end the season. Abdullahi is currently enrolled in Dalhousie’s Arts program.
