Athletes of the Week (Ending Feb. 3)

Dalhousie University presents our G2 Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, February 3, 2013.

Keisha Brown, Basketball

Tigers basketball captain Keisha Brown led the way on the court last week, collecting 29 points, four rebounds and three assists versus the undefeated Saint Mary’s Huskies and 21 points, three rebounds and five assists  against the UNB Varsity Reds. Dal was unable to best the Huskies, but earned a four-point victory over the Varsity Reds and have moved in the second place in the AUS standings. Brown is a fourth-year Arts student and hails from Halifax, N.S.

Simon Marr, Basketball

In last week’s game versus the Saint Mary’s Huskies fourth-year basketball forward Simon Marr recorded 22 points and six rebounds, but despite his outstanding effort on the court Dalhousie lost 57-50. In Friday’s 76-73 win over UNB Marr only collected eight points and five rebounds, but scored the game-winning three-point shot with only seconds on the clock. The four-point victory places the Tigers in a three-way tie with UPEI and StFX for third place in the AUS. Marr is from Saint John, N.B. and is a Sociology student.
