Dalhousie University presents our G2 Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, January 20, 2013.

Tarah-Lynn Truant, Volleyball

Fourth-year libero Tarah-Lynn Truant had an outstanding weekend, recording 40 digs and a 2.4 passing average in the Tigers 3-0 victories over both Cape Breton and StFX. Her effort on the court earned AUS Subway Player of the Game honours in Saturday’s match versus the X-Women. Truant is ranked fourth overall in the AUS with a total of 178 digs so far this season. Originally from Red Deer, Alta., Truant is a commerce student.

Jordan Bruce, Track and Field

At the Athletics Nova Scotia track and field meet this past Saturday, first-year Tiger Jordan Bruce proved himself a top CIS competitor when he recorded a first-place distance of 14.32 metres in the triple jump event.  The leap broke the Nova Scotia Provincial Junior record, qualified Bruce for the CIS championship and ranked him first overall in the CIS in triple jump. An arts student, Bruce hails from Dartmouth, N.S.
