Athletes of the Week (Ending Nov. 11)

Dalhousie University presents our G2 Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, November 11, 2012.

Courtney Thompson, Basketball

Third-year women’s basketball guard Courtney Thompson led the Tigers to back-to-back wins over UPEI to start their season this past weekend. Dal bested the Panthers 72-64 on Friday night and 73-67 on Saturday afternoon. She averaged 13 points, five rebounds and four assists per game. The commerce student hails from Saint John, N.B.

Alex Dempsey, Volleyball

Men’s volleyball outside hitter Alex Dempsey led the Tigers to a 1-1 record in their first two home games of the season versus UNB last weekend. Dempsey is currently second in the AUS in points and kills and this past weekend excelled in both categories with a total of 24 kills and 25 points after both games. Originally from Halifax, N.S., Dempsey is an arts student.
