Two local teenagers have won the Dalhousie Tigers’ Design the Mask contest.

Michael Piggot, a student at Prince Arthur Junior High School in Dartmouth, and Morgan Hessian, a student at Sackville Heights, get to see their designs in action—they’ve been applied to goalie masks by airbrush artist Craig Gouthro. The junior high students also received a $100 gift certificate, courtesy of Cleves Source for Sports.

Men’s hockey goalie Josh Disher choose Mr. Piggott’s design for his helmet. It shows a Tiger head and claws on a white background.

Women’s hockey goalie Ashley Boutilier, meanwhile, was captivated by Ms. Hessian’s design. “I choose this design because I liked the Tiger ripping through the metal,” says Ms. Boutilier.
