Caroline Schlosser, Cross Country
Caroline Schlosser capped off her AUS cross country career at the AUS Championship this past weekend with a gold medal finish. The Tigers captain forced a fast pace on the race from the starting line and in the end it came down to a one-on-one battle with St. FX’s Natalie Kannenberg. Determination and work ethic brought Ms. Schlosser across the finish line first with a time of 18:03, six seconds ahead of Kannenberg. A fifth year student in Dalhousie’s commerce program, she hails from Edmonton, Alberta.
Dan Gorman, Cross Country
Dan Gorman employed a strategic and conservative race strategy that led him to a first place victory at the AUS Championship last Saturday. For the majority of the race Dan ran at the back of the lead pack, but came to life with a mile to go and broke away from the group with St. FX opponent Connor McGuire. In the final 200 metres Mr. Gorman broke away and put seven seconds between him and his opponent in the final sprint, finishing with a time of 33:37. A native of Halifax, Dan is a fourth year history and sociology student.
