Fifth-year captain Jeanette Huck provided outstanding leadership on the soccer field this past weekend in her last home games as a Tiger. Although she regularly plays defence, Ms. Huck stepped up to play forward in Saturday’s game versus UNB since the team was missing players due to injuries. She scored two goals for the Tigers, bringing the team to a 3-0 win over UNB and earning AUS Subway Player of the Game honours. A student in Dalhousie’s Commerce program, Ms. Huck is a native of Halifax.
Ben Ur, Soccer
The Tigers outstanding goaltender, Ben Ur, led his team to victories over both Acadia and UNB this past weekend. In both games Mr. Ur kept the opposition scoreless, allowing no goals against on Friday for a 0-0 tie versus CIS #1 ranked StFX and on Saturday for a 1-0 win over UNB. He also set up the Tigers winning goal on Saturday with a well-aimed free kick that Ross Hagen finished with a header past UNB’s goaltender to win the game. Mr. Ur is a fourth year Arts student from Halifax.
