There were more than a few shrieks of delight this morning at about 8:45 when power returned to most of Dalhousie just in time for residence move-in activities.
All three campuses lost power yesterday after Hurricane Earl barreled across Nova Scotia. Many Dalhousie buildings ran on generator power for most of the day, while others closed early.
With most of the power back, students will be moving into residence today, as planned. Orientation activities will get underway later today.
Though a few buildings remain without power, it’s expected most of the campus will be fully operational by noon, says Mike Burns, Director of Security. The Killam Library, however, is scheduled to reopen at 1:30 this afternoon.
