Children playing road hockey game in Enfield, N.S. were told tomove their game to a cul-de-sac a 10-minute walk away whenneighbours complained to police.
According to the CBC, an RCMP officer recently stopped by andtold the kids there had been complaints about their playing in thestreet, so they would have to stop.
Road hockey, shinny, outdoor puck—whatever you want tocall it—has also become an issue elsewhere in Canada.Controversies have also popped up in Ottawa, Kingston, Hamilton andCalgary as disputes became public or laws were modified. InMontreal, a suburban dad is vowing to fight a $75 ticket which waslaid by police only after a neighbour, tired of the noisecaused by street-hockey-playing kids, insisted.
What do you think? How should these situations be handled?Should greater accomodation be made for kids who want to play roadhockey?
