Tavia Raiche-Marsden was selected as Dalhousie’s female athlete of the week as she led the women's swim team to a solid performance against five AUS teams and the visiting McGill Martlets at this weekend’s invitational meet held at Dalplex. She won all four events she competed in, taking the 50, 100 and 200 freestyles as well as the 50-metre butterfly; she was also a part of both of the Tigers winning relay teams. Ms. Raiche-Marsden is in her first year of Dalhousie’s science program and is from Cole Harbour.
Max Burt, volleyball
Max Burt of the Tigers men’s volleyball team has been selected at Dalhousie’s male athlete of the week for his performance at this past weekend’s AUS-QSSF interlock weekend held at UNB. Mr. Burt was a dominant presence all weekend, and has consistently been one of Dalhousie’s best players all season. He scored 52 points in the Tigers four matches against Quebec teams, where the team earned a 3-1 record, defeating McGill, Montreal and Sherbrooke in straight sets and narrowly losing to CIS #4-ranked Laval in five sets. Mr. Burt is a fourth year middle blocker for the Tigers from Gander, Newfoundland.
