Help is just a phone call way

Thousands of university employees now have access to ‘inConfidence,’ a recently implemented Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP).

The intention is for inConfidence to provide a voluntary, short-term counseling and advisory service. Employees can be put in touch with a network of professional advisors who are available around the clock, for assistance with concerns about personal, family, work life and general well being.

The program provides professional assistance across a wide spectrum of life’s challenges—career or financial concerns; childcare or eldercare responsibilities; depression or anxiety; alcohol or drug misuse; or coping with bereavement.

The network includes psychologists, social workers, addiction and career counselors and legal and financial specialists.

All regular full- and part-time employees and their dependents are eligible for this benefit, provided through Medavie Blue Cross’s partner Shelpell-fgi.
