The incidences of H1N1 flu are not abating. Through the summer, the virus continues to spread.
In the past week in Nova Scotia, for example, another 32 cases of H1N1 flu have been reported and confirmed, according to the Department of Health Protection and Promotion.
"We are in a pandemic and fully expect it to continue throughout the summer and the fall," said Dr. Robert Strang, Nova Scotia's chief public health officer, in a news release. "As expected, there continues to be an increase in the number of new cases of H1N1 in Nova Scotia. We are also seeing more severe cases."
Since the outbreak in late April, 210 cases of H1N1, also known as human swine influenza, have been reported in Nova Scotia. There have been six hospitalizations.
At least 24 people have died across Canada, and the outbreak has been declared a pandemic.
