Even though the princess costumes are a bit too snug and the ol' Scream mask is scary for the wrong reasons, university students find it tough to resist the urge to dress up and go door to door on Halloween. So this year, almost 200 Dal students got dressed up for a good cause. Visiting houses in the Dalhousie neighbourhood, they collected around 5,500 individual food items for Feed Nova Scotia.

"One of my favourite moments was actually a few days after the event, when a woman on Shirley Street called and said she wasn't home Halloween night, but that she still wanted to donate," says Michelle Honsberger, a commerce student and volunteer with Meal Exchange. "We went to her house and she had three full bags of food ready for us."
