On Sunday, at least two Halifax-area beaches will officially open to swimmers for the first time in many years. Mayor Peter Kelly is expected to don his Speedo and take a dip in the waters of the Northwest Arm.
Since the first of three waste water treatment facilties began operating nine months ago, bacterial counts have taken a dramatic drop in the harbour. "Finless browns," "beach whistles," "whitefish" and "brown harbour trout" are no longer seen floating in the water.
Now that the floaters are gone, will you wade in? We want to hear your views.
