Memorandum of understanding

- April 1, 2008

It's no April Fools' joke - on Monday, the Province of Nova Scotia signed a new memorandum of understanding with its 11 universities that will freeze tuition for the next three years and provide further tuition reductions to students from Nova Scotia through bursaries. Education Minister Karen Casey stated that the agreement will fulfill the government's pledge to bring tuition rates in line with the national average by 2010-11, but most of the reductions will not apply to out-of-province or international students.

What's your take on the new agreement?
