Originally from Dartmouth, Caleb Zelenietz is graduating with a Bachelor of Science, Honours Major in Physics. CalebÕs award-winning academic success at Dalhousie is rounded out by many leadership and extracurricular activities; all of which will provide a solid foundation for his future career in medicine.
He is the recipient of the Dr. G. H. Henderson Prize for best academic average in all courses in the first three years of Physics, three Natural Science and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) Undergraduate Summer Research Awards and the W. Andrew MacKay Alumni Scholarship, which recognizes leadership, citizenship and sportsmanship. He is also a member of the International Golden Key Honours Society.
He found time while studying to become involved with the Dalhousie Undergraduate Physics Society (DUPS), first as a mentor and this year as secretary. He also volunteered with Big Brothers/Big Sisters.
He says his experience at Dalhousie was a great one, and that he found a close-knit community within honours physics. ÒI know all the students and professors and they all know me. The Physics Department is strong at Dalhousie. It was a good choice for me.”
Caleb will be attending either the University of Toronto Medical School or the University of Western Ontario Medical School.
