Dalhousie students are being asked to kick-start a fundraising campaign that could transform the university, and catapult their school into its third century at the top of the Canadian heap.

DalhousieÕs next major capital fundraising campaign is still on the drawing board, but a $25-million commitment from students will make for a compelling and impressive case when fundraisers go to meet potential donors. The focus of the capital campaign will be students, says DalhousieÕs Vice President for External Relations Floyd Dykeman.

ÒThe campaign will be about raising money to enhance the Dalhousie experience for all students; to ensure that Dalhousie -remains accessible to qualified students who may not have the financial wherewithal; to build partnerships with the community outside the university; and to perpetuate the greatest Dalhousie tradition of them all, that the graduates of this school go on to make outstanding contributions to their province, region, country and the world.”  Ñ DN
