KATIE HOLLINSHEAD (SOCCER)

For the second game in a row Katie Hollinshead has nailed the game winning goal to earn her DalhousieÕs Female Athlete of the Week honour. The team captain scored last weekÕs winning goal against Acadia on the road and duplicated the feat against the visiting MUN Seahawks in Friday nightÕs 2-0 home victory. Hollinshead scored both goals in the game with her second coming off a thundering free kick just a mere 45 seconds following her opening goal. The fourth-year striker has been an outstanding performer for the young Tiger squad thus far contributing leadership both on and off the field. Hollinshead is a science student from Calgary, AB.

Other nominees: Maddy Glover (Cross Country)

JOHN CORBIT (CROSS COUNTRY)

The terrain was difficult, but DalhousieÕs John Corbit fought through the hills to earn his first ever win in AUS Cross Country, securing him the title of Dalhousie Male Athlete of the Week. The Antigonish NS native held tight with teammates during the first half of the race, only to dominate the second half of the 10km, finishing over 20 seconds ahead of the next runner. CorbitÕs efforts helped the Tiger squad to a crushing 22-point victory in the seasonÕs second cross country meeting. Corbit is third year science student at Dalhousie University.
