The Nova Scotia Wheelchair Basketball team has been traveling with the Abilities Foundation of Nova Scotia to universities across the province to compete against varsity athletes as part of the Stars on Wheels tour.
The undefeated Stars on Wheels will be wrapping up their first annual charity tour against the Dalhousie Tigers this Saturday at Dalhousie University on March 4. The game will take place at 5:00 pm at Dalplex prior to the men's varsity basketball game between the Dalhousie Tigers and the Saint Mary's Huskies.
The game will be open to the public with donations being collected at the door. All proceeds from the event will be going to the newest component of the Abilities Foundation's Active Lifestyles program, Take PART.
The Stars on Wheels tour is a promotional kick-off for Take PART, which is set to launch upon completion of Stars on Wheels. This comprehensive program will encourage people with physical disabilities to lead an active and healthy life by providing physically accessible sporting and recreation opportunities. The Abilities Foundation and University
partners will host weekly activities at each university location to provide opportunities for people with physical disabilities to get active.
