Moving? Spring cleaning?
Consider giving those old items to a student-run garage sale.
The Dalhousie Dump and Run is a community garage sale/waste diversion project and environmental fair. Used items are collected from the community and the student residences at Dalhousie and then resold at the Dump and Run. This year, the garage sale is on Saturday, April 30 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Studley Gym on Studley Campus at Dalhousie University. There are also exhibits and displays set up by local environmental organizations to inform and educate about important environmental issues. All proceeds from the sale are donated to local charities and non-profit groups. The organizers are students who belong to The Society for Corporate Environmental and Social Responsibility (CESR).
Reusable items can be dropped off next week (April 27-29) at the Studley Gym, which is located at the end of University Avenue and next to the houses of the Department of Economics. Drop off times are:
Wednesday, April 27 from 1 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 9 p.m.
Thursday, April 28 from 1 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 9 p.m.
Friday, April 29 from 1 to 9 p.m.
Reusable items for donation can be furniture, appliances, tools, barbecues, clean clothing, clean bedding and towels, books, magazines, games, kitchen utensils, and pots and pans.
