External Relations staffer Christina MacNeil's name and contact information is provided for those donors who need immediate attention outside of regular business hours. Late one evening Christina received a call at home from an alumnus who felt it was time to give to his alma mater and want to get things moving before year end.
What would spur a call like that in December? While enjoying warm, sunny Florida, where he spends six months of the year (the other six are spent in Nova Scotia), he received his Dalhousie credit card from our affinity partner MBNA Canada. The Dal image on the card moved him to action. He called Christina, and using his new credit card he made a $10,000 gift to the School of Business. He was pleased to use his alumni credit card to make his donation to Dalhousie and we were delighted to receive his thoughtful holiday gift through the Annual Fund.
As of the end of January, 2005 the Annual Fund has received gifts of $1.5 million. Bringing together donations on a yearly basis from alumni, faculty, staff, parents, students and friends the Annual Fund supports the renewal of our physical and academic infrastructure and other worthy initiatives.
