A Day in the Life of Julie Gorman

When Julie was eight, her parents took her on a vacation that changed her life. A trip to Sea World, combined with a natural love of the ocean inspired Julie to want to study the sea.

A fifth year Marine Biology Honours Co Op student, Julie's future plans include a Masters degree on the social structure and behaviour of ocean mammals. Her love of the water also spills into her avid interest in canoeing. Julie has been competing for 13 years in sprint canoeing, both on the national and international levels, and has held numerous national titles over the years.

In her spare time, she enjoys playing rugby for Dal, hanging out with friends, and taking in the sights and sounds of Halifax. Her favourite movie, surprisingly, is not Jaws or Orca - she prefers "Moulin Rouge." If you are an amateur student photographer, and want to capture your day on film and show it off to the world, contact Dawn Morrison.
