Radiocarbon Dating Using A Proportional Counter Filled With Carbon Dioxide

A method for radiocarbon dating has been undertaken in this laboratory which uses a gas proportional counter filled with pure carbon dioxide prepared from the sample to be dated.
The proportional counter and electronic equipment are complete, except for minor adjustments, and ready for use. However, the carbon dioxide purification system, which was dismantled, has yet to be reassembled and the counter filling system must be refined, before further tests can be made with the counter.
