This fund was established in memory of Dr. Ralph B. Cox to support graduate students doing research in the ecological aspects of fisheries productivity.
Dr. Patrick Lett established the Ian McLaren Graduate Awards in 2018, in honour of his former supervisor, Dr. Ian McLaren (1931-2020). These awards recognize and encourage professional development, timely progress within the graduate degree, and engagement in graduate student society and governance. There are separate awards each year at MSc and PhD levels.
The Patrick Lett Graduate Bursary in Biology is to aid graduate students who are having difficulty getting sufficient assistance from other sources.
Dr Thomas MacRae (1948-2019) was a dedicated and passionate educator and researcher, and chair of the department for several years. This prize continues Dr MacRae’s legacy in helping and encouraging students who devote themselves to their graduate studies.
