New health & wellness workshop available on Mindful Leadership: Leading with Awareness

The Faculty of Open Learning & Career Development is excited to offer a new health and wellness workshop designed specifically for Dalhousie University faculty and staff. As we continue to make our way together through these challenging times, being mindful of one's impact on others and managing thoughts, feelings and actions remain a priority for all Dalhousie faculty and staff.

Funded by Dalhousie's Workplace Wellness Grant Program in recognition of it covering many personal and professional wellness dimensions, this workshop will be available for all members of the Dalhousie community.

Below are some of the most asked questions about the workshop:

Who should participate? This workshop will be offered primarily to staff and faculty at Dalhousie who have supervisory responsibilities or work as part of a team, but all members of the Dalhousie community are encouraged to participate. Everyone can benefit from learning more about mindfulness and mindful leadership.

What will you learn? 
Staff and faculty participating in this workshop will achieve improved and increased leadership competencies, thereby having an overall positive effect on job satisfaction, stress reduction, and psychological wellness within Dalhousie University contributing to a more healthy and productive work environment.

When and where does this workshop take place? This workshop will be available for self-registration on our website. It i​​s pre-recorded and appropriately 40 minutes long. There are also short activities that you will need to complete, but it is recommended that you spread them over several weeks to gain maximum benefit from the experience.

Will my participation be recognized? 
Upon completion of the workshop and the activities, you will receive an award through Brightspace.

Who is the Facilitator? Rita Wuebbeler facilitates, trains and coaches individuals and groups in the areas of leadership effectiveness, high-performance team development, diversity & inclusion, intercultural competency and mindfulness. She teaches Mindfulness at Work programs in-person and online to wide audiences helping participants be more intentional in their approach to work and personal life, stay calm and focused on their tasks at hand, reduce their stress levels and improve their performance.
