Dr. Mike Smit wrote the following post for the Canadian Government open data portal: http://open.canada.ca/en/blog/teaching-open-data. The post went live yesterday.
The post features data visualizations from students in Dr. Smit’s course “INFO 6540: Data Management” on subjects such as Canadian ice thickness and Internet usage by age/income. The figures featured are by current/recent MLIS students Emily Colford, Carlisle Kent, Harrison Enman, Keriann Dowling, and Andrea Kampen.
It is wonderful to see the insightful projects of our students and faculty getting national recognition!
