MLIS graduate (2015) Alieda Blandford was featured in a Halifax Magazine article about the Little Free Library (LFL) movement in Halifax: http://halifaxmag.com/cityscape/books-to-the-people/
Alieda and a few other MLIS students formed an “action-oriented community group” called FYI Halifax, dedicated to “local literacy projects and information activism”. FYI worked with various community organizations to install LFL’s on Agricola Street and Gottingen Street.

We are proud of our student and alumni and the positive contributions they make to their communities. Literacy and information access are important issues that affect all of us, and we hope to see many more LFL’s pop up around Halifax!
