Corporate Residency MBA students win 2013 RMA Credit Risk Case Competition

Posted by Rowe School of Business on February 26, 2013 in News

Corporate Residency MBA students Rebecca Fiander (2013), Mary-Eleanor Walker (2013), Chris McKenney (2014), and Jason Reid (2014) emerged victorious this weekend from the 2013 RMA Credit Risk Case Competition hosted by the Sobey School of Business. The two-day competition challenged students to identify and mitigate real risks facing an organization.

The students were put to the test with an extensive prepared case presented on Friday, February 22, followed by a 3-hour case analysis and presentation on Saturday. The finalists were then given one last test, a crisis management scenario with only 10 minutes given to develop a solution.

The winning team was able to leverage each team member’s unique skill set to capture the title and the $10,000 grand prize. “This has been a phenomenal learning experience,” said team member Mary-Eleanor Walker. “It was an honour meeting with and working beside such accomplished professionals, both in industry and academia. We were proud to represent Dalhousie University and the Rowe School of Business, and we would like to thank the Atlantic Chapter of the Risk Management Association (RMA) and Saint Mary's University for hosting this event.”
