Meeting the challenge to create a multi-million dollar marketing campaign for a brand-new Chevrolet vehicle in “Canada’s Next Top Ad Exec” could earn Dalhousie business students more than prizes.
The competition kicked off with an information booth in the Rowe Atrium on January 18 to promote an entry deadline of January 28. Student teams must submit an elevator pitch to move on to the strategy round and hopefully to the final presentation. The top 10 competitors will travel to Toronto to deliver a 30-minute presentation pitching their idea to a high-powered judging panel. Only one team will get the glory, the prizes and the title of Canada's Next Top Ad Exec.
“Canada's Next Top Ad Exec isn't just a nation-wide advertising and marketing case competition—it's your big break into the industry. If you're studying business—minor or major, undergrad and post-grad—we're giving you the opportunity to win a scholarship, prizes and maybe even the keys to your very own 2013 Chevrolet Cruze. Participating will give you the chance to network with industry execs and earn internships in marketing and communications along the way,” said 4th year Bachelor of Management student Aaron Merchant who is the competition’s Campus Account Manager at Dalhousie’s Rowe School of Business.
The Prizes
Over $30,000 worth of prizes will be awarded. Each member of the winning team will drive home in a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze. Also up for grabs: two $2500 and two $1000 scholarships from Chevrolet Canada; a Microsoft prize pack containing an Xbox 360 with Kinect, Halo 4 and a Windows 8 phone; internship opportunities and more.
