Research Interests
My research interests are rooted in collaborations that reinforce healthy and sustainable communities. My most recent projects focus on mental health advocacy, Indigenous-led fish and fish habitat protection, and community engagement. I am crafting a non-traditional academic path, navigating my positionality as a Western researcher living and working in an Indigenous nation filled with rich culture and horrible traumas, yet steeped in a collective circle of respect, gratitude, and hope. I follow a protocol of conducting research with Indigenous researchers/knowledge holders and the Mi’kmaq community using a Two-Eyed Seeing approach
