Welcome from the Dalhousie Law Students' Society

Congratulations on your acceptance to the Schulich School of Law! 

You should be extremely proud of yourself and all the hard work that got you here today. We are so excited to welcome you to the Weldon community. At Schulich, we are proudly known for our unmatched sense of collegiality and the close-knit community it fosters. You will be entering a class with students from across Canada, who each bring their unique background, perspective, and experiences. Many of the connections you will make at Schulich will be life-long. The cherished friendships that are made at Schulich persist much longer than the three-year program. 

Law school is incredibly fulfilling and equally challenging. My education at Schulich has been enriching in countless ways. I have received a first-class legal education from the exceptional faculty. Experiential learning opportunities have been invaluable to learn about the law in practice. Further, I have learned a great deal from my peers and their perspectives, enabling me to view the law and its application through a more diverse lens. I have confidence that your legal education will serve you similarly, and you too will leave Schulich well-equipped for whatever path you may choose. 

Beyond the memories you will have inside the walls of Schulich, you will have the opportunity to live in Halifax: an energetic city with plenty to explore. You can anticipate frequent walks down the Halifax waterfront, hitting the Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market, surfing at Lawrencetown beach, listening to live music, or hiking Duncan’s Cove - there is truly something for everyone. Halifax has all the perks of a city, but is as relaxed as a small town, full of hospitality and friendliness. This city has become a second home to me, and I am so excited that you too will have the opportunity to soak in all it has to offer.
