Dr. Olivier Valentin is a Neuroengineering Researcher and Assistant Professor in the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Dalhousie University. Before joining the SCSD, he held a Research Associate position with the Brain Repair and Integrative Neuroscience Program (BRaIN) within the Research Institute of McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC), where he developed a predictive model for auditory and brain health based on multimodal imaging and artificial intelligence, and adapted pupillometry to objectively assess listening effort in patients with single-sided deafness. Dr. Valentin’s research, positioned at the intersection of hearing health, cognitive neuroscience, and medical technology, aims to advance patient care and enhance quality of life through innovative, interdisciplinary approaches.
