Student News ‑ Spring 2021
We Did That!
If the Pandemic taught us anything - it taught us resilience. It taught us to come up with creative solutions. It taught us to take things in stride and find the commaraderie that comes from community, and shared experiences. I'd encourage students, faculty and staff to take a moment to think of what you've accomplished this past year - take a proud step back and say "yeah, we did that". (Special thanks to Diane and Amira for their impressive group selfie photo skills.)
Year 2 Occupational Therapy "Bubble" Ball
By Emily Webber
In February School of Occupational Therapy students orchestrated a class "Bubble Ball" - it was a huge success! 50 classmates filled out a pre-released, approved COVID pre-screen online forms, allowing 50 attendees across 7 different host locations to participate. Most bubbles had majority, if not all classmates attend!
The students would like to thank Director, Lynn Shaw and Associate Director, Diane MacKenzie for their enthusiasm and guidance towards getting the Bubble Ball approved. It ended up being a safe, inclusive, fun class event with extremely positive feedback.
Fun Fact: Emily Webber is one of 5 National recipients of this prestigious Canadian Occupational Therapy Foundation (COTF) Barb Worth Emergent Leader Award. Congratulations Emily!
