In 2015/16 The School of Nursing at Dalhousie offered the first Community Based Indigenous Health Research course inclusive of 16 Indigenous students from Dalhousie, St Mary’s and NSCAD (Nova Scotia College of Arts and Design). The course and the research was facilitated by Dr Amy Bombay, (Dalhousie) Dr Carla Taunton, (NSCAD) , Dr Lisa Wexler (University of Massachusetts, Amherst) and Dr Adele Vukic (Dalhousie).
