Program Description
The program may be completed on a full-time or a part-time basis.
Full-time students complete the program in two years, while part-time students are expected to complete the program in three years.
MN NP The MN – NP program has residency requirements that commence in Year 1 for full-time students, and Year 2 for part-time students. The residency requirements are as follows:
NURS 5740 Advanced Health Assessment includes weekly lab sessions on site (Halifax or Cape Breton campus) during the first 7 weeks of the term. Additionally, all MN NP students are required to be on the Halifax site for all OSCEs.
Full-time students are also required to take 1 clinical course per term for program duration; Part-time students are required to take 1 clinical course per term, starting in year 2. Clinical preceptorships may take place throughout Nova Scotia or the Atlantic provinces ONLY. Clinical placements are not possible outside of Atlantic Canada (NS, NB, PE, NL).
Successful applicants from outside of Atlantic Canada will be required to relocate to NS and shall be required to apply for a NS Registered Nursing license.

Students complete courses focused on practice-related theory and research and gain hands-on experience with clinical practicums. |
