Joanne Newell

Biography

Joanne Newell is an Adjunct Assistant Professor with Dalhousie University, School of Nursing (Yarmouth site) teaching in the BScN program. Joanne has completed both her undergraduate and Master of Nursing degrees from Dalhousie University and has enjoyed a 27 year career in nursing education.  Her passion is teaching professional and ethical practice, pathophysiology, and chronic disease care.  Joanne has been involved in Interprofessional Health Education since its inception at Dalhousie. Since 2009 she has been a co-facilitator of 2 interprofessional  health education experiences per year surrounding stroke care and has been involved in other unique interprofessional learning initiatives. Joanne’s research interest include IPE, chronic disease management, and professional practice.
