Self‑directed/Independent Learning Course
Create your own path
Dalhousie’s School of Nursing offers undergraduate students the chance to carry out independent projects related to nursing theory and practice. The Self-directed/Independent Learning Course can be used as 3-credit Nursing Electives.
Working with a faculty facilitator, students identify, plan, execute and evaluate a project that is not currently covered by the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) program.
Self-directed learning students and their faculty mentors are responsible for designing a study project with clear, measurable objectives and creating an Independent Learning Contract.
Self-directed learning is a three-credit class.
