Dr. Jacqueline Gahagan, Interim Director of the School of Health and Human Performance, was recently invited to Ottawa to speak before the Parliamentary standing committee on Health regarding Motion 47 - which "examine(s) the public health effects of the ease of access and viewing of online violent and degrading sexually explicit material on children, women and men."
Health Promotion student Nicole Doria is a recipient of a 2017 Dalhousie Governors’ Award, the university’s top honour in student life, recognizing her exceptional contributions and leadership in the extracurricular realm.
This year’s Crossroads Interdisciplinary Health Research Conference was a real milestone. The event celebrated its 15th anniversary – making it one of the longest running student-led conferences of its kind - with the largest number of delegates and attendees in its history.
Students from the Faculty of Health Professions were among the exeptional students who were recognized for their service - both on and off campus - at the 6th Annual Dalhousie Student Impact Awards on March 23.

Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Jane Philpott, recently traveled across Canada to learn about innovations in mental health. One of these innovations, the Bloom Program, is a mental health and addictions community partnership that's the only one of its kind in the world.
