The 29th Annual Health Administration REA+CH 2013 Leadership Gala was held on Friday, April 12. The keynote speaker for the event was Peter MacKinnon, CEO of the Colchester East Hants Health Authority. Mr. MacKinnon's presentation, "From the Ground Up: Building the Colchester East Hants Health Centre" offered a behind the scenes look at the new facility in Truro. Special guests for the evening included Dean William Webster and Anne Godden-Webster; Anne McGuire, CEO of the IWK and Chair of the School's Professional Advisory Council; Michael Hadskis, Schulich School of Law; Catherine MacPherson, Chair CCHL Bluenose Chapter; Bernadette Gatien, Research Measurement and Organizational Effectiveness Specialist, Health Association Nova Scotia and Gail Boone, Executive Coach and Human Resource Strategist and past instructor - recipient of the Lawrence Nestman Outstanding Contribution Award. Many alumni, faculty, staff, family and friends were also in attendance. Award recipients included:
- Erin Christian - Health Services Administration Alumni Award, Canadian College of Health Leaders Award and Health Association of Nova Scotia Award
- Jaime Claramunt - KP Richard Law Award, Nestman Prize for Accounting and the Robert Wood Johnson Award
- Julie Avery - KP Richard Law Award, Edward L. Roach Award, Dr. Alan D. Thomson Award and the Dr. A. Peter Ruderman Award
- Leanne Smith - Thomas Rathwell Award for Healthcare Policy
- Victoria Smith - was the recipient of both first year student awards, the Glen Moore Memorial Award and the AHAS Academic Excellence Award
- Annabritt Chisholm - AUPHA Foster G. McGaw Scholarship
